Description

Diets don't work because they don't attack the root problem. That's why 99% of dieters gain the weight back. A Woman of Moderation is inspired by and works hand in hand with the successful program Setting Captives Free. Thousands of individuals have lost and kept the weight off because the root problem has been attacked. We overindulge our bodies when we are sad, bored, or anxious - for food is a temporary fix - but then it bites back. Learn how to distinguish between soul hunger and stomach hunger, and experience the joy, excitement, and peace of becoming A Woman of Moderation.

Author Information

Dee Brestin
Years ago, when writing a Bible study guide about friendship, her editor, Luci Shaw, encouraged Dee to write a book about that subject. Dee then wrote the book that would put her on the map: The Friendship of Women. Letters poured in from around the world, saying how the book had ministered to them. When she received a call from Focus on the Family, Dee was amazed. After appearing for the first time on a Focus radio broadcast, she became much in demand as a speaker. Her books We Are Sisters and My Daughter, My Daughter followed.
Dee is still passionate, however, about Bible study guides, having seen the Word transform lives. She has been excited, as she travels, to see a hunger for in-depth materials especially for women and a turning away from “Christianity lite.” Her series, A Woman’s Journey (through Ruth, Esther, Luke, etc.) was nominated for the Gold Medallion Award. Falling in Love with Jesus, co-written with Kathy Troccoli, released in January 2001.

Dee and her husband, Steve, an orthopedic surgeon, met and married at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. They came to Christ early in their relationship and have been blessed with over thirty-five years of marriage, five children and four grandchildren.
